Production and sales

The total production of the members of the AICV in 2010 was over 14,5 million hectolitres, i.e. over 14 million hectoliters of cider and perry, and 0.5 million hectolitres of fruit wine.

98% of the total sales are made within the EU.

2% of the total sales are made outside the EU.

Consumption in the EU is as follows:

  • for cider and perry, 48% in the pubs, hotel, restaurant, and catering sector and 52% for home consumption (supermarkets, specialized shops, …)
  • for fruit wines – home consumption only
